Background
Oatlands Visitor Attraction is one of Guernsey’s leading tourist attractions and has been extensively improved and refurbished since its purchase by the current owners in 1997. Oatlands Visitor Attraction is set in the surroundings of a converted farm and includes two distinctive 19th Century brick kilns.

The kilns stand as reminders of a thriving brick making industry that once existed in Guernsey. Built in 1892 these kilns now form part of one of Guernsey’s most popular tourist attractions.

Oatlands Visitor Attraction, popular with locals and tourists alike, now includes Miniature Golf, “Jungle House” children’s play area, several shops, and an award winning Brasserie.

Location
The property is located in St Sampsons approximately 2 1/2 miles north of the centre of St Peter Port and is on the main tourist route for buses/coaches and holidaymakers.

It is situated in a prominent and very visible location between Oatlands Lane to the south and La Route du Braye to the north. Access to the site is from Les Gigands Road.

Description
The property comprises a converted farm and outbuildings and is set in approximately six acres of land. The main farm building is of traditional random granite construction under a pitched slate roof with dormer windows at second floor level.

Rebecca’s Chocolates, the Gist Shop, the Brasserie and a 4 bedroom Local Market Apartment (on the first floor) are located in the main building.

On the northern side of the main building are two thatched converted barns where Guernsey Jewellery, Guernsey Picture Frames, Ego Motifs, Craft Wise and Bish’s Fishes are located.

The two 19th century brick kilns are located in front of the converted barns near the main pedestrian entrance to Oatlands Visitor Attraction.

On the eastern side of the main building are the Jungle House, Model World and the Miniature Golf. The Jungle House includes a coffee shop and “Jungle House” children’s indoor play area, as well as eight trampolines and two children’s Go-Kart tracks. A 75 space tarmacadam car park provides ample parking and is supplemented by an overflow car park in the adjoining field to the west of the site.

Future Development
Full planning permission has been granted to create a new two-storey Play Barn (approximately 6,500 sq.ft in total). Please note the current permission will require renewal on 31 July 2010.
